It pays to buy the best gel candle supplies
If you're going to be making gel candles, it really does pay to buy the best supplies you can afford. If you're
going to be investing your precious time, make sure the raw materials give you the best possible chance of turning
out a quality product.
There are also some sensible safety reasons for choosing the best.
Make sure you order from quality suppliers, and if you buy at your local craft store, make absolutely sure they're
selling first-class materials. Local outlets might be tempted to go for lower prices rather than quality.
The thicker the gel the longer it burns and the more scent it can carry - but the higher the temperature.
Make sure the container has no chips or cracks that might break under the strain of these higher
temperatures.
In particular, if you're going to get your own gel making supplies for scented candles, pay close attention to
the fragrance oils. You MUST use a NON-POLAR oil with a flashpoint of 170 degrees or higher.
Don't worry too much about the technical term - just made sure you get the right fragrance if you're thinking
about making gel candles.
