Aromatherapy soy candles - best of both
The sharp increase in the popularity of soy candles has naturally spread to that other popular product, the
aromatherapy soy wax scented candle.
This interest sometimes makes it difficult to remember that soy wax has been on the market only since the early
1990's, when it was invented by an American, Michael Richards.
He was looking for something to replace paraffin wax and while beeswax was the obvious alternative, he finally came
up with something less expensive...
Soy wax advantages
For those interested in aromatherapy, soy wax offers a number of advantages that can make it preferable to
normal candle wax.
- It has all the usual soy benefits - a natural wax that burns up to 50% longer than paraffin wax:
- produces less soot;
- and is very easy to clean. Spilt soy wax can be easily cleaned up with hot soapy water.
- A particular benefit is that because aromatherapy soy scented candles burn cooler, the scent "throw" (the
degree to which the fragrance is dispersed throughout the room) is improved.
- And of course, because soy does not produce any harmful toxins, there is nothing to detract from all the
benefits of aromatherapy soy scented candles.
